Step into the rich history of Cassel Vineyards as you explore the wines available in our wine department at Wolfe’s General Store. Since 1903, the Cassel Family has cultivated this land, with brothers Craig and Chris now representing the fifth generation of its legacy. Their commitment as stewards of the land is reflected in the meticulous cultivation of grapes, expertly transformed into distinctive local wines. The vineyards and winery are an integral part of the Cassel family farm, spanning 135 acres and home to a five-acre vineyard housing six grape varieties: Chambourcin, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Vidal Blanc, Concord, and Niagara. Managed by Craig and Chris Cassel, along with their wives Becky and Jody, the vineyard established itself in 2008 and obtained its license to sell the inaugural vintage in 2009.

 

Among the exceptional wines we offer, the Winner’s Circle White RESERVE stands out. A meticulously crafted blend of Chardonnay, Vidal Blanc, and Traminette, it undergoes a year of aging in French oak and cognac barrels. The wine reveals notes of light citrus, wildflowers, and honey on the nose, while initial flavors of lemon, honeydew melon, and a touch of pineapple gracefully transition into a creamy finish of toasted vanilla and toffee. Our selection encompasses a variety of wines, from whites and reds to blushes and ports, each a testament to Cassel Vineyards’ dedication to quality.
