The mission of the Slate Run Brown Trout Club is to create and offer a world class trout fishing experience to the general public, on public water, at no fee.

The Brown Trout Club stocks hundreds of huge German Brown Trout in “The Stretch” each year, with many of them carrying over from year-to-year.

This 2.8 mile section of Pine Creek, beginning at the mouth of Slate Run and continuing downstream to Bonnell Run, is stocked by both the PFBC and the Brown Trout Club. Regulated as a Catch & Release (Trout) – All Tackle project, angling on “The Stretch” is permitted year round, on a 24-hour basis. Fishing may be done with bait, spinners, artificial lures, flies and streamers.

The Brown Trout Club is supported by the scores of anglers who join annually through the Slate Run Tackle Shop. Not surprisingly, many anglers unselfishly make donations well in excess of the membership levels. Since the Brown Trout Club has been designated as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization by the IRS, all contributions are fully tax deductible as allowed by law. Without such support, “The Stretch” on Pine Creek would not remain the quality fishery that it is today!
